TomTom One 3rd Edition beta test

I’m interested in participating as a beta tester in the future.

I’m interested in using my TomTom for hunting and accessing remote areas, if that helps at all- I realize most people don’t do that.

I am an Air Traffic Controller with the United States FAA. I currently develop software for the FAA used to track aircraft and determine separation.

I would love to be a beta tester for TomTom. I have the TomTom One 3rd edition.

I bought a go 720 at the store not knowing that this is an experimental product. I was really hoping for a working device. Since it is only partially functioning, I think Tomtom should have told me (before selling it to me) and I think I should not be paying full price for beta testing for you … please advise regarding refund or payment plan for beta testing your junk …

I don’t understand what you mean by ‘experimental product.’ The GO 720 is a product and is not in any beta testing phase.

I myself have the TomTom Go 720 & found it Great! No problems with it and easy to use after a short amount of practice & reading. I would love to be a Beta tester for TomTom for new patches or upgrades, but also think that the best testers would be like my Brother who drives a truck for a living across the USA & parts of Canada all the time. These gents are on the road 24hrs a day 6-7 days a week! I know he too would be glad to test such. And as a trucker, could both use as well as input options & info about things such as (things to assist in driving a truck for a living), where Rest stops are, Weigh Stations, Truck services centers, Truck Stops, Bridge, Tunnel, & Overpass Heights, Toll Roads, and Road Vehicle Weight Limits? These folks help all of us in keeping our country going and costs down… we need to provide them tools to ease that job.
Thank you

Hi Don,

Thanks for your interest, but we have filled all of our beta tester slots right now. When we need more in the future, we will announce it here at Club TomTom. So, please keep coming back!

I agree with Don, I too am a truck driver and all that additional information would not only be useful but also very helpful, especially like the song says, “Give me forty acres and I’ll turn this rig around.” No it doesn’t take me the full forty acres but so far my TomTom has helped to keep me out of areas like that.

I would very much like to see the compass symbol returned to its original size. I use it constantly and the little tiny icon is horrible!. I also used to have the compass show my direction of travel, and now that is not an option! What were you thinking? Make the symbol large again and give us the option to show direction of travel!!

Ronnie Perry 12.03.08 at 7:56 pm

I am looking for maps that show truck routes for my GO920T. I use it in my motorhome and need the information when traveling so as not to run into low overpasses and weight limitations. A 38ft motorhome with a toad is not easy to turn around.
Thank you

I just purchased you Go 730. Love it. I work for Comcast Cable and I was about the only tech without a GPS. Since we travel through multiple counties, for hundreds of miles, your Go 730 will really come in handy. Thanks.

I just purchased the TomTom Rider 2, love it, still trying out the different functions and also bought a car kit for it.
Let me know if I can help test new Rider stuff..

Ronald Layton 04.01.09 at 3:00 pm

Just perchased an XL 330 S this week and I am learning all the functions now. I never liked paper maps when traveling. I would love to be a beta tester for TomTom.

I have a TomTom 930T & I drive the Greater SouthEast USA about 70,000 Miles a year. I have had my 930T about 3 Months, is the new Live version going to be worth changeing to?

I see the 740Live here in the USA & UK and the 940Live in the UK. Is it worth changing to the 740Live from what I have, Wait for a 940Live in the USA or Keep what I have? Also what are the differences between the 3?

Thanks for anyones advice.

I am the IT director for a municipality, and have been an avid alpha and beta tester since 1996, mainly testing Microsoft operating systems and home products. My current project is SpiceWorks software, which I am currently helping test version 4.0 alpha. I would be honored to become a tester for TomTom when the opportunity arises. My family has two TomTom One 130 units which we love.

Garnet Simpson 05.13.09 at 8:57 pm

I will be traveling to Russia Far East, then in second half of June I’ll be driving through 4 countries in EU. I would like to participate in beta-testing with my GO930.

dan 05.24.09 at 1:24 pm

i would like to see them make a tom tom. for a truck driver. I would like to be a beta tester.

Lou 06.04.09 at 8:27 am

I’m using a Rider2. I’ve used it to ride from Indianapolis to Washington, D.C., and I’m planning to use it to ride from Indianapolis to San Diego, California in about three weeks. I use my TomTom daily in the car on the drive to and from work, for the traffic updates; I re-route around the snarls so I get to work on time. I would like to be a beta tester.

Kevin 06.09.09 at 8:38 pm

Tom Tom, should have a truck route map, I would pay for that update. My XL, keeps you on good routes, but it’s really not for trucks, you know restricted routes, low bridges.

Rod 06.11.09 at 9:30 pm
