TomTom Map Share™ set to music

OK, I’m really feeling the jet lag today, but you’ll be happy to know that I ‘ve crossed back over the pond and I’m back in Concord.

Recently, I got the chance to talk to some of our Map Specialists whose job it is to manage all the edits users submit via TomTom Map Share™. It’s really an interesting process and one that I plan on blogging about at length in the near future. Until then, though, please enjoy the next installment of TomTom GO 720: The Movie. In this week’s spine-tingling, action-packed episode: The Man in the Collared-shirt encounters… a road block.

    Mapiator,

It sounds like you’re talking about TomTom MapShare™ technology. We will indeed be highlighting the program as it continues to get off the ground. Expect more later this (9/9/07) week.”

MapShare is not supported down here in Australia (or traffic reports for that matter) … then again, we do get voice rec. ;-)

In August I purchased a TomTom720 T in Germany. This include a year’s subscription to Map share and Traffic. As I spend 4 months of the year in Florida, will I be able to use both facilities over there?

Unfortunately your European RDS-TMC traffic receiver won’t work in the United States. However, you will still be able to connect to HOME and report all of your map corrections via MapShare without any additional changes to your device.

Unfortunately, at this time, we do not offer maps of Kuwait.

Must say i’m a bit annoyed to find that the mapshare doesn’t work in Australia. Just upgraded my GO 500 to the GO 720, mapshare being one of the main reasons (along with the iPod connect which I find I have to purchase another cable for). If I knew this wasn’t available here, I probably wouldn’t have upgraded.

I suppose it’s my problem for not researching it, but I couldn’t see why it wouldn’t be available. Can someone please explain why not?
