What is the difference between Voice Address Input and Voice Recognition?
Voice Address Input only allows you to enter an address, but with safety in mind, the TomTom GO 740 LIVE features Voice Recognition. Drivers can direct the GO 740 LIVE with over 130 different voice commands. Drivers can plan an entire route, adjust volume or screen brightness, or even make a phone call by simply using their voice.
What’s new with Advanced Lane Guidance?
Advanced Lane Guidance (ALG) is now capable of displaying multiple images in complex intersections up to the second exit in the junction. We have also expanded the number of intersections, on-ramps, and off-ramps.
What is Local Search powered by Google?
Local Search powered by Google is an advanced search function which can be used on the go to locate places or other points of interest. This provides you with an unlimited source of POI information. You will be able to:
- Navigate to your search result
- View the phone number and call the location if you have a Hands-free compatible phone paired with the device
- Read reviews that people have posted
What type of additional storage does the device have?
The GO 740 LIVE has a slot for a Micro SD card. The maximum, recommended size is 4GB.

Will LIVE Services replace TomTom’s PLUS Services?
No. Live Services have been specifically designed for connected devices, enabling customers to receive relevant, real-time data directly to their device. PLUS Services deliver content that is available for non-connected TomTom GPS devices.
How does IQ Routes work on the GO 740 LIVE?
The new and extended version of TomTom’s innovative IQ Routes™ Technology calculates routes based on historical travel time information for every road, every day of the week and now even the time of day. The feature is powered by millions of global TomTom customers within our installed-base who anonymously report historic traffic flow data as they drive. Over the past two years, more than 1.8 trillion miles of roads have been recorded by the TomTom community and implemented into this unique technology. The powerful combination of IQ Routes and real-time traffic feeds uniquely enables the TomTom GO 740 LIVE to provide drivers with the fastest routing and most accurate travel times without the need for Bluetooth connectivity or wires - 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
What if I only want only one LIVE Service subscription, such as Traffic?
All LIVE Services are bundled into one package. They are not available to purchase separately.

i have a question my tom tom will not show me how to get to canada
