On Tuesday, August 5th, eight TomTom employees spent a day away from the office donating their time and efforts to The Greater Boston Food Bank. The Food Bank, located in Boston, Massachusetts, is an excellent charity dedicated to providing hunger-relief to those who suffer state-wide.

With help from many selfless volunteers, The Food Bank is able to provide an incredible 25 million pounds of food annually to relief agencies, who then distribute meals directly to those in need. Remarkably, these meals feed more than 320,000 people.

The Food Bank is able to continue to provide aid due to the help of more than 10,000 volunteers. Each day volunteers gather at The Food Bank in order to inspect, sort and repack donated grocery products in an assembly-line process. On Tuesday alone, TomTom-ers were responsible for the preparation of over four thousand meals, a tremendous contribution of service to The Food Bank.
While a couple hours spent working at The Food Bank is seemingly insignificant, it can truly benefit the life of someone in need. TomTom encourages you to participate in at your local food bank! For more information about The Greater Boston Food Bank, please visit http://www.gbfb.org/index.cfm.
