Have you ever had to ask yourself: “How do I make sure I have the latest version of the TomTom application on my device?”

Well wonder no more! And it’s pretty easy too…

First of all, TomTom recommends always having the latest version of their application installed on your device.

To install the latest application you need to have TomTom HOME installed on your computer. Whenever you connect your device to your computer, TomTom HOME automatically checks if you have the latest version of the application that is available for your device.

BE CAREFUL THOUGH!

If you are using an application based on the TomTom SDK (Software Development Kit), we recommend that you check with the supplier before installing the latest software application.

It is strongly recommend that you make a backup of your device before you install a new application.

After you have all that figured out, go ahead and run TomTom HOME and connect your device to your computer. When prompted with whether you want to connect to your computer, choose Yes.

To continue, select your version of TomTom HOME (Version 1 or 2).

For version 1 for the instructions below:

1. Be sure you are logged-in to your MyTomTom account. Click the Login icon in the lower left corner to log-in if you are not.

2. If HOME does not automatically check for updates, click on Install to TomTom and then click Update now.

3. If a new application is available, it is listed on the next screen (any other content you have purchased through PLUS services will also be listed). Make sure the new application is checked, then click OK to download.

4. The items you selected will begin downloading.

5. Choose Yes to install the items you just downloaded.

6. If you have not already made a backup of your device, HOME will prompt you to do so now.

7. Choose No if you have already made a backup and the update will install itself to your device.

Important: Do not disconnect your device from your computer before the installation is complete.

For Version 2:

1. Click on Update my GO.

2. If a new application is available, it is listed on the next screen (any other content you have purchased through PLUS services will also be listed).

3. Make sure the new TomTom Application is checked, then click on Update and install to begin downloading.

4. HOME will download and then install the items. Once this is finished, click on Done.

Important: Do not disconnect your device from your computer before the installation is complete.

The application on your TomTom device will be updated when you reboot your TomTom.
