About a year ago we released the TomTom RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver. The antenna receives real time traffic announcements via the FM airwaves and sends that data to your TomTom device. It comes with one year of traffic service free!

Now that that year is up, users want to know how to renew. Here’s the simple process:

1. You will need to download and install the latest version of TomTom HOME (2.4). If you don’t have HOME, click here to install.
2. Once HOME is installed, plug your device to your computer and turn it on. HOME should start up automatically.
3. HOME will check for any map or application update for your device.
If it finds any, you can go ahead and install them, but it is not necessary.
4. When all updates are installed/ignored, click ‘Back’
5. Now click ‘Add Maps, Traffic, Voices, Etc.’

6. Now click ‘Traffic’

7. RDS-TMC users will see an item called ‘USA & Canada RDS TMC traffic service (1 year renewal)

8. Click Buy and proceed with the checkout process. Another year of RDS-TMC traffic service is only $59.95.
