Apologies Richard. I’m afraid I was unclear. The ONE XL is Bluetooth mobile phone compatible for access to TomTom PLUS Services like Traffic, Weather, and Buddies. However, it does not feature handsfree calling. Sorry for the miscommunication.

Not happy to hear that I can’t use my phone with the One-XL. You should be clear in your instructions so that people don’t waste their time on this like I have!

It might depend on your carrier, but you’re right, based on the official compatibility list, your phone is not compatible with ONE XL. However, it’s important to note, that the Bluetooth connection for ONE XL is not for handsfree calling. This feature is not available on the ONE XL. The Bluetooth is for access to TomTom PLUS Services like Traffic, Weather, and Buddies.

If i read the list correctly my LG vx8300 is not compatible with ONE XL. Is that the reason that I get the “pairing failed” when trying to connect? And if I did have a phone that was compatible, what would it allow me to do, I’m assuming that “hands free” means that i could talk and listen using the ONE XL mounted to the window? Is there a patch file i can load to enable this unit for my phone?

The GO 300 is Bluetooth-enabled for access to TomTom PLUS Services. I don’t know, off the top of my head, if that particular phone is compatible. I’d give customer support a call at 866-486-6866.”

i have the tomtom go 300 and i want to use bluetooth with it . i have a kyocera cell phone from virgin mobile and i want to know if it is compatable with my tomtom

Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately handsfree calling is not a feature supported by ONE XL. You would need to upgrade to the GO series to get handsfree calling out of your GPS device. You can always check the most up-to-date list of compatible phones at tomtom.com.
