iPhone and Riddle News

If I had a World Series ticket for every time someone asked about iPhone compatibility with TomTom devices, you’d all be coming with me.

That being the case, I have some news…

The Apple iPhone is now officially supported for use with handsfree calling on the TomTom GO 510/910 and 720.

Also, I’m still looking for an answer to last week’s riddle. Read the comments for clues. Remember, eternal fame awaits the one who can figure out this navigational conundrum and be the first to comment with the answer.

Have a great weekend!

The Apple iPhone is officially supported for handsfree calling only on all TomTom GO x20 series devices.

What about for getting traffic on the TomTom XLS?

Can the iPhone be used for that?

No. The Apple iPhone does not officially support TomTom PLUS Services.

“officially support”? Has any had success? I am looking to purchase a 920t and iPhone support would make the deal at this point. If not, I’m just getting a One.

Joe, I have an iPhone and I pair it with the GO 920 in my car. It most definitely works.

The limitations come from the iphone set itself.
The fact is that some stupid people at Cupertino ( maybe jobs himself ) decided to disable any bluetooth fonctions other than free handset only.

Admin says that it works in his car, so does it in mine. But We are ( iphone and TT users ) still stuck with RDS for traffic info…

Too bad…

I can not get the iPhone to work with the GO 510 in my car for the Plus services.

Unfortunately the iPhone is not compatible with TomTom devices for data connections. It’s compatible for handsfree calling only.

Does TomTom plan to make Plus services work on the iPhone 3G in the future? How could they miss this?

Donald, thanks for the question. Unfortunately, Bluetooth profiles are determined by the mobile phone manufacturer, not TomTom

Now that the iPhone 3GS is out, and supports tethering via bluetooth, will tom-tom be updated to recognize the fact that the iPhone DOES support data via bluetooth? I have a GO 930 that worked fine with my Moto KRZR on Verizon. But I was able to configure it manually. But the 930 outsmarts itself and just says that the iPhone can’t do it. But it now can.
