Here comes the TomTom RIDER! Vrrrroooom…
A little heads up to those interested in the TomTom RIDER release (like drgavin, who sent us a great e-mail recently inquiring about it). Worry not! The RIDER is now available to purchase on the TomTom website. Although it is also available in a limited number of retail stores, the best way for consumers to buy RIDER will likely be online.

Just got my Tom Tom Rider in the mail yesterday. A couple of things I would like the product to have:
Altitude display. Almost all of my other GPS devices have this option and this one should also.
Computer software for route planning. The “Rider” has decent route planning but it is very difficult and time consuming to enter a route into the device. We get printed directions for motorcycle club rides which include directions such as ” go north on I-5 to exit 208 then east on 530 then north on highway 9″. It would be great to be able to click on these exits or intersections on a larger map to make a route, then send it to the GPS.
Thinks I like about the Rider so far: The bluetooth phone connection. The overall design of the product and the mounting and connection parts that are included.
Additional features I would like to see. More map options such as topo maps and forest service road maps as I often ride my adventure touring motorcycle on forest service roads.
One nice surprise is that I can read the manual and back up the GPS on my Macintosh computer. I just assumed there would be zero Mac support.
I am taking a risk in purchasing this product instead of a Garmin. I hope that your product support group will respond to the needs of North American customers and continue to improve the Tom Tom Rider.
