In the wake of disaster, the American Red Cross is always ready to respond - even in the most treacherous driving conditions. TomTom Inc. recently donated TomTom ONE portable navigation devices to assist every Emergency Response Vehicle in the Red Cross national fleet. Since disasters often leave streets flooded, landmarks destroyed and street signs mangled, navigation is difficult. Now Red Cross Emergency Response Vehicle drivers can use TomTom devices to find alternate routes to reach populations who have been affected by disaster and who may be in need of emergency services.

TomTom’s navigation devices give Red Cross relief workers:

* The most up-to date maps and efficient routing

* Innovative safety features

* Exclusive Help Me! feature for access to essential emergency information

“Following a natural disaster, a personal navigation device may be the only means by which relief workers find their way when typical landmarks, such as buildings or roads, are missing,” said Jocelyn Vigreux, president of TomTom Inc. “TomTom is honored to support the Red Cross’ exceptional disaster relief efforts.”

    I have a TomTom GPS and LOVE it! This really speaks well of the company for helping out the American Red Cross. I also like to help out the American Red Cross by using the toolbar I downloaded from Give2Network.com. The toolbar lets all my searching and shopping (which I do anyways!~) benefit the American Red Cross. It’s nice to know there are so many ways to help out and big companies helping out as well.
