First, turn it on. You’ll see the standard TomTom ONE XL splash screen.

Then, ONE XL•S will ask you about your language preferences:

Now you get to choose the voice that will read your navigation instructions. If you want your TomTom to announce street names in addition to directions and distance, choose a “Computer” Voice…

Now, ONE XL•S will ask you just what things it should announce to you. If you want street names, just tap the box…

Your TomTom ONE XL•S can also read aloud tips and warnings.

Now tap Done and you are ready navigate with the ease and confidence of spoken street names!

    When using text to speech she always announces distances in “yards” instead of “miles”. Other than that the text to speech is awsome. I dont even have to look at the device anymore.
