Keep it powered up

212_lifestyle.jpg

The TomTom GO 510 and 910 are designed to automatically switch off when it detects an absence of power from the car charger. The device assumes that the driver has stopped and therefore has turned off the engine. This feature is designed to save your TomToms battery power and prolong its life.

However, we’ve noticed that some devices can react too sensitively to power disruptions like bumps in the road. Also, some users have told us that they don’t care, they don’t like this feature because they don’t necessarily want to turn their devices off.

Fortunately, we have a fix for you.

Meet the FM Transmitter Mount

fmtransmitter-mount.jpg

One of the more exciting accessories to come along in a while, the TomTom FM Transmitter Mount makes it possible to listen to your TomTom GO 510/910’s navigation directions, mp3s, and iPod through your car’s stereo, wirelessly.

How does it do this you ask?

The FM Transmitter Mount connects to your GO 510/910 device then sends its audio information to your stereo via unused FM radio channels. If you use your Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone through your TomTom you can even get your calls through the stereo.
