As part of the recent redesign here at ClubTomTom, we’ve added a featured video box in the top right. Right now we’re featuring a quick video explaining how to use TomTom MapShare technology.
We’re going to be changing the featured video periodically but you can always check out our entire (growing) library of video tours of products and feature at our dedicated ClubTomTom channel on YouTube.
Also, please let us know if there are any other features you’d like to see demonstrated in video form by leaving a comment here or at YouTube.

To see if you have the latest map installed, first check which map version is currently installed on your device. If you need help with this, please see:
How do I check the version of my application and map?
Once you know your current map version, you may use TomTom HOME to see if there is a newer map available:
- In HOME, click Add Maps, Traffic, Voices etc.

- Click Maps.
- If a newer version of your map region is available, it is listed as Online.

- You can click on More info… to view the version of the new map.
Note:
Before purchasing a map that may be too large, connect your device to TomTom HOME and use Show contents of my device to check your available memory.

It can be frustrating when you put your GPS device on the mount, start it up, turn it on, start typing your destination only to have that battery warning start blinking. Keeping your device charged does not have to cause headaches though. My friends at TomTom Support have put together this comprehensive FAQ on the different ways to charge your TomTom GPS. Best of all, it’s for ALL devices.
Check out the basics of charging your TomTom GPS.

Today marks another milestone for us here at TomTom; we are proud to report that we have reached five million Map Share improvements thanks to our Map Share community worldwide – a community which keeps on growing! In fact, the community has grown an extraordinary 1000 percent from half a million users at the beginning of this year, to over five million users today.
This growth speaks volumes about the benefits TomTom’s unique Map Share service provides our users. With Map Share, drivers are able to make instant map improvements directly on their devices, delivering the most up-to-date maps possible. Map Share community members may also submit these corrections to TomTom. Once verified by our map specialists, they become available to all Map Share members.
So far, our customers have used Map Share to add thousands of street names, block about a million roads which are no longer open, and add various new points of interest (POIs) to the TomTom database.
Point being: if you haven’t joined the Map Share community, it’s time to check it out!
