This new feature, now available on the TomTom GO 730 and 930, lets you prepare for motorway exits and junctions by showing you which lane you should be in.

For some exits and junctions, a still image shows the turning and the lane you should take.

Historically, routing has been calculated on road distance, traffic signage, and speed limits. Scientifically, it worked. But now, IQ Routes™ has looked at ACTUAL drive times to provide the fastest and most accurate route. Based on data we’ve collected from millions of TomTom users, the data considers such factors as when you’re driving to provide the fastest route on a given day. In other words, the fastest route from the office to home may not be the same on Monday as it is on Sunday, and the plotted route will reflect that. With the historical data, IQ Routes™ knows when to expect delays and other intangibles that simple distances and speed limits can’t predict. It’s a smarter way to navigate.
