Some of you may or may not already know that TomTom has a great newsletter that it sends out once a month. For those that do receive the newsletter, great! For those that don’t, you should. It’s filled with great information about TomTom, its products, and all of its services. We even run contests monthly where you can win accessories, services, even PNDs! In addition, the newsletter provides tips, stories, videos, and more. It really is a great way to keep up to date with everything going on at TomTom.

We are excited to announce that TomTom Map Share has received its one millionth map improvement from users since the launch of the service in July 2007. To date, over half a million Map Share users have joined the Map Share community.

Map Share is available in 30 countries spread over 5 continents and ensures that drivers always have the most accurate and up-to-date maps. Of the 1,000,000 uploaded map improvements, about 2/3 can be installed instantly. The remainder is forwarded to the TomTom development team for further study. Possessing the world’s largest satellite navigation community with over 15 million members, TomTom Map Share users can keep their maps as dynamic as the world they live in.

We at TomTom are excited to announce the launch of the industry’s first content-sharing platform for TomTom devices that allows users to easily download, upload and share a wealth of navigation content with other users for free. The content available to share and download will offer something for everyone from personalized start-up images and warning sounds to funny voices and more.

This is part of a new version of TomTom HOME, which now has 4.25 million users. The new version is available as of today and has been designed to bring new levels of personalization to the navigation experience for the entire TomTom community.

Users simply connect their device to their computer, launch TomTom HOME and select the type of content that interests them. Within each area the user will see a list of content supplied either by TomTom, a third party or individual TomTom customers. They simply click on the “add” button to install the content onto their TomTom device.
