But so many people are just jumping into the PND game and all that can be a little intimidating. So, today we’re pleased to present the first in a several-part series of instructional videos meant to help you learn the TomTom basics. And for you seasoned GPS veterans out there, we encourage you to share these videos with the people you know who may be receiving a TomTom this holiday season.

TomTom and Google Maps: Step by Step

• Perform a local search with Google Maps
• Click on the ‘Send to GPS’ link Connect your TomTom device to your computer

Latest Maps – Make Sure You Got ‘em

We at Club TomTom want to make sure everyone out there has the latest maps for their TomTom device, so we’re here to provide some quick information.

TomTom uses the best mapping information from the world’s leading providers, but because new roads get built and existing roads change, TomTom releases new maps on a regular basis.

TomTom would like to ensure that the map that comes preloaded on your device is the most up-to-date version available. To do so, simply follow the below steps using TomTom HOME 2:

1. Make sure you have the latest version of TomTom HOME 2 installed on your computer.

2. Connect your device to your computer.

3. In the ‘File’ menu click ‘Use Latest Map Guarantee’. NOTE: if this option is not shown then your device already has the latest map.
