TomTom’s QuickGPSfix now available for free to all TomTom ONE users

Beauty shot.jpg

We’ve launched the free QuickGPSfix service to all TomTom ONE users.

TomTom’s free QuickGPSfix service enables a TomTom ONE device to connect with GPS satellites faster than ever before. This means that the position of the TomTom ONE is ‘fixed’ seconds after switching on the device, even if the GPS signal is weak.

You can simply install QuickGPSfix by connecting your TomTom ONE device to a computer running TomTom HOME, TomTom’s free software application. TomTom’s QuickGPSfix predicts the location of GPS satellites for seven days. For the quickest GPS fix available, connect to TomTom HOME at least once a week.

TomTom’s QuickGPSfix is compatible with TomTom GO 910, TomTom GO 510 and the TomTom ONE.

Meet Diane Yasgur

DianeYasgur.jpg

Diane is TomTom’s Director of Human Resources. Yup. For most job applicants around here, she’s the first TomTomer you’ll meet. Fortunately, she’s got personality to spare!

Her job, as she describes it, is to “Re-direct, keep us from getting into gridlock, find alternate routes when there is any sort of blockage, prevent accidents, map out new streets when necessary, and question the construction crew on their decisions.”

So much like a TomTom device itself, Diane keeps us pointed in the right direction at all times.

Outside the office, she uses a TomTom GO 700 and GO 510 to assist her very busy social life. “I like traveling (those world maps come in real handy since I am adventurous), dancing (my 510 helps me locate those little known, out-of-the-way dance places, coaching soccer (yep! I use my device to help me find the opponents’ playing fields), and spending time with my friends and family. I’m pretty active and almost always on the GO!”

Some time ago she engaged her son in a little navigation challenge: shortest route to his apartment. She, armed with a TomTom, he, packing only the roads with which he was familiar. Diane reports, “He didn’t use a TomTom. Guess who won?”

Diane would like to add that if you “want an exciting, challenging, ever-changing place to work - That’s us!”
