In the corner desk, against the window, sits Steve Schad: Vice President of Supply Chain and Operations. Looking at his spare, unassuming desk, few would guess that he tracks the movement of all things TomTom in North America. He manages the supply chain, support center, and IT. He is a most vital cog in the TomTom machine.

And you should see his short game.

A former employee of HP, Steve had worked overseas in Singapore and England for seven years before returning to the States in 2004 and joining TomTom not long thereafter.

Oustide the office, Steve says he has but two interests: Family and golf… in that order.

When it comes to navigation, he uses a TomTom GO 700. “It’s a simple device. I love that about it. It gets me from A to B with no hassles.” The only downside he reports is that his friends really fall in love with the device (not quite as much as these guys) and start to pester him for free samples.

When asked if he had anything else to say about TomTom he just adds, “TomTom is a great company to work for.”

And TomTom blushes.

As GPS Review pointed out, people are already tracking beer with GPS, and car insurance companies may calculate your premiums with GPS. The technology is being used in so many ways, and every day someone comes up with a new way to use GPS.
